How to identify the resources allocated by companies to manage non-financial issues.

In this article, you will learn how to use the Datamaran Search tool to identify companies’ disclosures on the resources allocated to manage their non-financial issues. e.g. the department responsible, the number of dedicated people and the budget.

To find this information you will need to perform a search in the Reports tab:

  1. Go to the Search module.
  2. You will automatically land on the Reports tab.
  3. You can copy and paste the search query below and modify it to search the resources allocated to your topic of interest, or build a search query.

     "committee\"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR "officer\"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR "department"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR "team\"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR  "invest\"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR "dollars\"[topic of interest]\""~6 OR "euros\"[topic of interest]\""~6

    Here is an example:

    "committee\"human rights\""~6 OR "department\"human rights\""~6 OR "team\"human rights\""~6 OR "officer\"human rights\""~6 OR "invest\"human rights\""~6 OR "dollars\"human rights\""~6 OR "euros\"human rights\""~6

  4. Refine your results with the filters on the left-hand panel to focus your analysis on your companies of interest. After any changes of filter have been made, do not forget to click on “Update analysis” at the top or bottom of the filter panel.
  5. Explore disclosure practices and pinpoint exact references to any term(s) within company reports with highlighted sections.
  6. Download your search results and visualizations for reporting and communication purposes.
